Pokémon GO’s Halloween 2025 Part 1 event has officially begun, marking the return of the game’s annual spooky celebration. This year’s event highlights Dark- and Ghost-type Pokémon, including the debut of Shiny Sinistea and Shiny Polteageist. This is the first time players can catch their shiny versions, making the event a major opportunity for collectors and shiny hunters alike.
Start Date: October 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time
End Date: October 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time
Throughout the event, players will encounter increased spawns of Ghost-type Pokémon, themed Field Research, limited-time Collection Challenges, and various in-game bonuses. Sinistea will appear more frequently in several forms of gameplay, offering multiple chances to encounter its shiny version.

Sinistea has historically appeared only in limited situations, such as past 1-Star Raid Battles or as rewards from Field Research Tasks. During the Halloween 2025 Part 1 event, Sinistea will be featured in several ways:
The best strategy for finding a Shiny Sinistea is to explore as many event areas as possible, participate in raids, and complete the available research tasks. Using Incense and Lure Modules during the event will also help increase your encounter rate.
To obtain a Shiny Polteageist, players must first catch a Shiny Sinistea and then evolve it.
Evolution Requirement:
50 Sinistea Candy
Candy can be earned efficiently by catching multiple Sinistea, transferring duplicates, and taking advantage of event bonuses that provide extra Catch Candy. With double Candy rewards active during Halloween 2025 Part 1, players can accumulate the necessary amount faster than usual.
The Halloween 2025 Part 1 event offers the first chance to catch Shiny Sinistea and Shiny Polteageist in Pokémon GO. With boosted spawns, themed raids, and double Candy rewards, this event provides the perfect opportunity to expand your shiny collection. Don’t miss your chance to add these haunted tea Pokémon to your lineup before the event ends on October 27.
